WHAT IS PROJECT VISIBLE
In 2016 I was on vacation in New Orleans. We were walking down Canal Street headed to dinner when I saw a homeless man lying on a twin mattress in the middle of the sidewalk. I watched a group of 7 or 8 people in front of us step on him. No one stopped, no one said anything, they just kept walking as if they had just stepped on a piece of trash. I couldn't shake seeing this and that's why I found myself crying in the hotel bathroom at 3 am while everyone else slept. While sobbing and feeling awful I started to pray and asked God to take away the feelings I was having. God simply told me no, instead he said he was going to use my feelings. Thus Project Visible was born. The homeless population has become invisible, they are truly treated as the modern day leper. The man on the sidewalk of Canal street was invisible, but that invisible man on the mattress is a child of God. That man is someone's son, maybe brother, or even father. Most importantly, that man on the mattress has a name and he is loved. Project Visible is a mission to live and love like Jesus did. Jesus wasn't afraid to touch the leper and he took the time to see the unseen.
Project Visible is an outreach ministry that takes to the streets to meet our invisible brothers and sisters and show them the love of Jesus by building relationships. We aim to show them we care and are here to help by providing for needs and loving on them like Jesus would. Our goal is to make it known that even though the world treats them as though they are invisible, we see them
Project Visible is a ministry that aims to meet our homeless brothers and sisters out on the street and show them that we care, that they matter, and that they are seen.
